The maintenance and treatment
of BjörnOlav products
Give the product an airing in between usage. I.e Clean wool, without additives, rejects dirt and cleans itself during airing. Store the product straightened on a flat surface. Avoid keeping the product inside plastic.
As natural material wool “lives” in use: In the beginning the knitted cloth gets nubby on spots of hardest wear. This is completely normal. The knit pushes out short bits of fibre in abrasion. Do not cut off the nubs, but take them off carefully by hand, if necessary. This “nubbing” process is the break-in of the product and the more you wear it the sooner it will end.
Washing the BjörnOlav product
Hand wash (by hand or machine) using lukewarm water +30 C with neutral, mild washing detergent meant for wool and silk. Do not soak wool. Wash and flush by gently pressing. No remnants of washing detergent should remain in the product; this might make it yellow. Light machine spin-dry is ok. Dry the knit flat, shaped to its normal form. The product can be steamed, if necessary.
